The anticipation is on, how far will our teams make it into the NCAA basketball tournament?
Creighton, Nebraska and Iowa State all made it to San Antonio Wednesday, they'll play later this week.
There's a sense that team spirit extends beyond the game itself, no razor here please. It's a fan's way of staying connected, “I see it on TV, I want to support it on the streets,” as the thought goes.
Pat Lawlor's shop is busy off 84th street. “We just keep reloading on the same stuff, really people want Creighton logo-ed merchandise, either wear to their parties they are going to, the bar or if they are going down to San Antonio.”
Milly and Maddox stopped in for a last minute purchase, Maddox is headed down to San Antonio Thursday morning, but not before a big scare after Creighton's senior night win. “It was kind of weird because it was the last, I thought it was going to be the last time I was ever going to see them play, but I forgot about all the tournaments.”
No, there's still more basketball ahead for the Jays, the "Band of Bluejays" tweeted a couple of pictures of the team and supporters leaving Omaha Wednesday.
Husker fans will enjoy a photo courtesy of Nebraska basketball on twitter, number 35 shooting video instead of 3's.
Mary Jurgens was traveling to Oregon late Wednesday but wished her plan could take her south to San Antonio. As an avid husker fan though, Jurgens is confident Husker nation will travel well for Friday's game. “Oh it just makes it an exciting time for people, once you are a Husker fan, you are always a Husker fan.”
