Anne Boyle has announced that her current term on the Nebraska Public Service Commission will be her last.

Boyle said she'll leave the commission when her term ends in January 2015. She was first elected to represent District 2 in 1996. The district includes Omaha.

Boyle also serves as a member of the National Association of Regulatory Utility Commissioners and its telecommunications and consumer affairs committees.

She's a former chairwoman of the Nebraska Democratic party.

The Public Service Commission's duties include regulation of telecommunications carriers, natural gas jurisdictional utilities, household goods movers and passenger carriers, grain warehouses and dealers and private water company rates.
