A patient and two staff members aboard an ambulance escaped injury when the vehicle struck a deer on the southern edge of Lincoln late Tuesday afternoon.
The accident occurred around 5:10 p.m. when the deer ran across the road in front of the ambulance. The patient was being transferred to a Lincoln hospital from Beatrice and was taken the rest of the way by another ambulance.
The damaged ambulance was towed back to Beatrice.
