A 40-year old Glenwood, Iowa man is under arrest for driving while intoxicated. Gary Dooley was involved in a deadly crash about 7:35pm Sunday in rural Pottawattamie County.
Sheriff Jeff Danker says 71-year old Evertt Rageth of rural Council Bluffs, was traveling southbound on Wabash Avenue. He was hauling a trailer loaded with hay. When Rageth attempted to turn left onto Overland Trail, the driver of another pickup who was behind him attempted to pass him on the left. When the two vehicles collided, Rageth was ejected from his pickup and ended up being pinned under the trailer.
Rageth was flown to the Nebraska Medical Center where he passed away.
Dooley refused medical attention and was arrested for OWI 1st. Two passengers in Rageth’s vehicle were treated and released at Mercy Hospital.
