The sky cleared and it was dry Sunday for the Defenders of Freedom Air Show and Open House at Offutt Air Force Base in Bellevue.
The event was canceled Saturday due to rain, but organizers made up for it as the planes again soared. Visitors also got the chance to get up close and learn about the different aircraft. Laurie Loncke and her family come every year and she said the best part was just seeing the planes take off. “Right here, right now, the fast planes and the smoke, just the atmosphere.”
About 1,300 Air Force members helped things run without a hitch for the 75,000 who turned out on Sunday.
