Maybe you’ve heard of the “Color Run,” “Warrior Dash,” or countless other 5k races travel across the country and stop into the Omaha metro. Local nonprofit Activate Omaha presents a fun competition that is all about, for, and from Omaha, Nebraska!
Activate Omaha, in partnership with presenting sponsor Blue Cross Blue Shield of Nebraska, will present the Activate Omaha Urban Adventure Race on Saturday, June 1. The event will start and finish behind the Civic Auditorium on Chicago Street, between 17th and 19th Street.
Teams of two will bike, run, walk, climb and navigate their way through the downtown and beyond while searching for check points. Along the way, teams need to complete mystery challenges. The event features two divisions – the Full Bull Course (four to six hours) and the Half Calf short course (two to three hours). The course will run through city trails, streets, parks and businesses. Teams can consist of all men, all women or a mix of the sexes. All competitors must have their own bike.
“With two levels of difficulty, the event is designed to accommodate people of various fitness abilities,” said Julie Harris, Project Manager with Activate Omaha. “This year’s secret course is shaping up to be really fun. We’re really excited to be back downtown and we have some great surprises up our sleeves for the teams.”
Proceeds from the race will benefit the work of Activate Omaha. The event is sponsored by Blue Cross Blue Shield of Nebraska; contributing partners include: Angry Cow Adventures and Lucky Bucket Brewery.
