Students at Adams Elementary in Omaha got a chance to put down their school books Tuesday night and celebrate the arts instead.
All students and families were invited to the school's annual Art and Music Festival. They could check out artwork done by their classmates and then several of the school choirs gave a performance.
Principal Mark Kelln said, "For so much of the year we are so focused on those important skills of reading, science, and math and so we are really getting at the end of our testing season. Those things are important, but its important that we recognize all the talents of our wonderful students and the importance that art and music play in that."
The school also has a special show choir. They performed songs from the 70s.
