Three days after a man is shot to death near 83rd and Underwood in Omaha, the accused killer has turned himself in. The family says despite the arrest they are still looking for answers on what happened.
LaMichael Fewell surrendered to authorities in Junction City, Kan. Tuesday. He's charged with second degree murder.
There are still a lot of unanswered questions surrounding the murder of Jer'ray Moore. Moore's family says they don't know who Fewell is, and they want to know why Jer'ray was killed.
"We're still numb and now that we have a face to go with it, we don't want any bitterness or anger," Jer'ray's mother Tricia Moore said. "We just want justice to be served because my son didn't deserve to die."
For now, the large family is sticking together. Now their focus is on putting together a "Coming Home" service for Jer'ray. They're creating buttons to sell in order to make that happen. While they are forced to say goodbye to Jer'ray, they're hoping they can soon make sense of such a senseless act.
"We're going to keep the faith and stay strong," said family friend Zaccheus Parker.
