Above normal air settled in on this Black Friday and will camp out across the Heartland through Tuesday. Normal highs in the lower 40's are common this time of year.
Temperatures will be running about 3° to as much as 10° above normal. The unseasonably warm air comes abruptly to an end by Thursday and Friday. Wednesday is transition day, as a cold front is set to swing through and usher in another round of arctic air.
Highs in the 20's and lows in the teens will be common by the end of next week. One long range model is even hinting at enough moisture moving in next Friday for some light snow.
We'll continue to track the upcoming cold and snow potential and keep you updated.
