The Cassgram reports Debra K. Woodland had pleaded guilty to second degree assault, a Class III Felony, for wielding a large knife against her husband, cutting him slightly. The incident happened in their Plattsmouth apartment last July.
Woodland was on probation at the time for a misdemeanor conviction earlier this year. In that incident, she hit her husband with a metal wardrobe rod.
Cass County District Court Judge Randall Rehmeier sentenced Woodland to not less than one year but not more than one year on the felony conviction, and to six months for the probation violation. He ordered concurrent sentences.
She has been in county jail since her arrest. With the credit for 133 days served and Nebraska’s sentencing guidelines, she will serve about two more months in the state correctional system.
