A 28-year old woman is facing a host of driving violations. Lincoln police say Carley Scheffert’s troubles began about 4:30 Tuesday afternoon when she accelerated toward a police officer in an alley.
This happened behind the property at 2821 A Street. The officer tried to stop her but he jumped out of the way. She struck the rear quarter panel of his police cruiser and continued onto A Street.
Once she was on A Street, police say Scheffert disabled her car after getting involved in a head-on collision. She was transported to a hospital to be treated for injuries from the second collision.
Scheffert was cited and released for assault, DUI, driving with a suspended license, having no insurance, and reckless driving.
