A severe thunderstorm warning is in effect for northeastern Adair County in Iowa until 7 p.m. Sunday.
The driver of an ATV was sentenced Thursday to four-to-five years in prison for causing a deadly crash three years ago.
Twenty-seven-year-old Myles Virgil was convicted of motor vehicle homicide in the death of 21-year--old Brenda Strizek, one of three passengers on the all-terrain vehicle that hit a pole on a bike trail near Valparaiso, Nebraska, 20 miles north of Lincoln, in August 2009. The other passengers were injured.
Investigators say Virgil had been drinking before he left a party with Strizek and the two others. He lost control of the ATV, sending them over an embankment.
