The high school football season is here and the fan base at Westside High School will have something extra to cheer about this year.
Crews are creating Champions Plaza, a brand new entryway for fans to walk into the football stadium.
Plaques from all of Westside's state championships will be put on display. Also being added are brand new restrooms and concession stands.
Westside Foundation President Sue Seline said, "We've needed to do this for a long time and so finally we will have a great front door, where people will pass through and see all the great things that this district has been involved in athletically over the last 60 years."
Also new for Warrior football: brand new field turf. It was done by the same company that handled the work for Tom Osborne Field inside Memorial Stadium.
