Dog park gets city approval in one community. There are just a couple of hoops to jump through yet, but a fenced park on the property where the swimming pool was at Memorial Park has the backing of the Plattsmouth City Council.
The Happy Paws Animal Advocacy Group has been working on the off-leash park plan for the past few months and has obtained enough grant money and $5000 in private donations to build the park.
The Cassgram reports There will be two areas within the park, one for big dogs and one for small dogs.
The city council gave its approval contingent on the necessary fencing, signage and ordinance changes.
