Over the past few days the Heartland's weather has gone from one extreme to the next.
Less than a week ago, our highs were in the low to mid 80's, some 10-15 degrees above average. But now the weather has done a total about face.
After the passage of a cold front on Monday, high temperatures across eastern Nebraska and western Iowa will drop into the 50's and low 60's this week.
Not only will the weather be markedly cooler, but also BELOW average. Typical highs for the middle of October should be near 66, but instead all week long our highs through the Heartland will be running 5-8° below normal.
