After 36 hours of darkness and closed signs on the doors of Old Market businesses, life was back to normal Wednesday with traffic moving and people shopping and dining as power had been restored by morning.
A fire in an underground vault early Tuesday morning damaged four circuits and left more than 100 customers in the dark. Some OPPD workers toiled for close to 30 straight hours under downtown streets to replace equipment destroyed by the blaze.
