It is the reality show that really does change lives, and on Saturday, July 24th “The Biggest Loser” will be looking for the next contestants here in Omaha.
Casting directors are auditioning both singles and couples but what qualities do the producers want in a contestant?
We talked to former contestants and the casting directors who will decide who will star in the next season of "The Biggest Loser."
The first thing you have to realize is that this show has good ratings and they want to keep it that way so if you're headed down to the Nebraska Furniture Mart tomorrow take your personality with you.
Here are some tips to give you a leg up on the competition.
It is weeks of pain and sometimes embarrassment but in the end the result achieved is more important than the fame.
Marty Wolff says, "You completely change your life."
Marty Wolff was a contestant on "The Biggest Loser" and knows not only how the game is played but how it is cast.
Marty Wolff says, "The only thing I can really say is be authentically you, if you are a jerk in real life be a jerk, if you're happy go lucky, if you're gullible be authentically you. Know why, because you can't fake it once you get to the ranch."
Holland Striplin is one of the people who will decide who gets the chance to be cast on "The Biggest Loser" and says they are looking for between 16 and 20 special people.
Holland Striplin says, "We want people that our audience is going to root for and want to tune in each week to watch and to cheer for it is a competition game show so we do want people that have that competitive spirit and want to go for the prize but also people that want to succeed."
That's Marty Wolff's goal for people too. He and his wife Amy started Reality Wellness to help people get healthy.
As much as he credits "The Biggest Loser" for his success Wolff says it's like winning the lottery and you can't just sit around waiting for the show to pick you.
Marty Wolff says, "What should I do and all of these tips and in many cases I'm just start, start the journey now start the journey today and you never know where you're going to end up being."
Casting for “The Biggest Loser” will be on Saturday, July 24th, at Mrs. B’s; it runs from 10am until 6pm. The show will air January, 2011.
You are asked to bring a recent photo of yourself, unfortunately it cannot be returned to you.
Marty and Amy are also looking for people to participate in a local weight loss competition you can find more information on that at realitywellnessinc.com.
