The Husker faithful were already loud and proud early Saturday morning in Lincoln, hours before kickoff.

“I love the Huskers and I just like to go all out for every game," said Steven Montgomery, painted red and white.

Then there are the fans wearing full-blown photo cutouts of coach Bill Callahan and quarterback Sam Keller.

"We tied them around our necks, we can take them all day with us and it's a good conversation starter,” says Allison Lepp. “Everyone keeps staring at us and laughing, so it's good."

"This is just our support for kind of him and the team in general, so hopefully he'll do well today,” sais Christin Lovegrove.

In this sea of red and white spirit, at least in one case, we found it mixing with a little gold and maroon. A happy(?) couple, a Husker engaged to a Trojan.

"It's tough,” says NU fan Taylor Ames. “I kind of feel like a traitor, bringing the enemy into the camp, but what can you do?"

"Things have been a little tense, especially in the airport coming here because I got a lot of looks wearing the USC gear and things like that and he got a lot of crap for it too," says USC fan Brittany Smith.

Nebraska fans see the game as the Big Red payback. Last year, the Trojans had home field advantage and won. This year, the game is in Lincoln and some fans expect a different result.

"Twenty-three-21 Nebraska close game, but the fans will win it for us," said one fan.

"Nebraska's gonna win by 10," said Montgomery.
