The Cassgram reports the appeal notice in the Class IV Felony evidence tampering conviction of Douglas County CSI director David Kofoed was filed by court-appointed public defender Steve Lefler. Kofoed is serving a 20-month to 4-year sentence in the Nebraska Department of Correctional Services. Kofoed was found guilty in a bench trial before District Judge Randall Rehmeier.
The appeal notice in the Cecil Even jury verdict and sentencing was filed by Angela Minahan of the county public defender’s office. Even was sentenced to 5 to 10 years on a Class III Felony conviction of attempted first degree sexual assault of a child and 5 years on a Class IIIA Felony of sexual assault of child. The sentences are being served concurrently. A jury found the 54-year-old Even guilty in April.
