Brandon Dilliard has been waiting for his college diploma since May. He’s received an unexpected $928 bill from Vatterott College instead.

The form letter demanding payment doesn’t explain the reasons why Brandon Dilliard owes the money.

He said, “It’s very frustrating. I know if I were to write a letter requesting $928 from somebody, it would be a little more detailed than this.”

Brandon and his mother Jodee Kessler believe the unexpected bill is holding up the diploma.

Jodee said, “We want to know what this amount is for and why he’s gone to school for 90 weeks and we’re just finding out about it now.”

A campus director for Vatterott College near 120th and I streets in Omaha said he can’t provide any information on student records due to privacy laws. He did say the college takes any student concern seriously and plans to meet with Brandon and his mother.

Brandon who is an honors student at Vatterott said, “I’m very anxious to get my diploma and move on with my life by getting a career started in computers.”

But Brandon said it wouldn’t e smart to pay a bill that gives no details on why he owes the money.
