The eight teams out of some 300 that were fighting their way to Omaha for the College World Series have arrived. Seven arrived Thursday. UCLA came to town on Wednesday.
For the next few hours it will be a party-like atmosphere as the players are welcomed and settle into their hotel rooms. All of the teams arriving Thursday were behind schedule, though they did stop to get a look at Rosenblatt Stadium before heading to their hotels.
South Carolina will make its camp at the Embassy Suites downtown. Many of the players had their own cameras going as they got off the bus to record the moment and remember the start of the last College World Series at Rosenblatt.
Up north at the Holiday Inn downtown, the Little League Tigers who range in age from four to 14 were out front to welcome the Tigers from Clemson.
All eight teams have practice scheduled for Friday at Rosenblatt Stadium. Here is the schedule:
