Cancer Survivors Day Set

On Sunday, June 6, the Omaha area will join millions of Americans in celebrating cancer survivors as part of the 23rd annual National Cancer Survivors Day®.

The Metro Area Health Systems and local businesses who support Cancer Survivors Day invite you to come to a celebration picnic from 10:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. at Cancer Survivors Park at 105th and Pacific Streets in Omaha.

This family-focused event recognizes those who have survived cancer and their caregivers. Free lunch will be provided and t-shirts will be given to cancer survivors in attendance. The day will also include clowns, face painters, kettle corn and much more.
National Cancer Survivors Day also coincides with the American Cancer Society Relay For Life® season where 500,000 cancer survivors are honored in 4,800 communities across the country for their valiant battles against cancer.

Relay For Life® is a way for cancer survivors to fight back against the disease that could have claimed their lives, raising $407 million last year nationwide for cancer research, education, patient support and advocacy programs.
