GOING DOOR-TO-DOOR to sell something? You’d better know that city’s regulations or if it is even allowed at all.
If you’re the one being solicited, you’re advised to ask questions and call law enforcement if you have doubts about the validity of the peddler.
Plattsmouth City Councilman Terry D. Tilson said with the warmer weather, he’s had solicitors knocking on his door. He’s found they’ve lacked the proper permits.
The Cassgram reports Plattsmouth ordinances require any non-resident salesperson not having a regular weekly route to register with the city so that a permit may be issued.
The permit is to be carried at all times and “shall be displayed by the salesman upon the request of any citizen of the City or any police officer of the City.”
It is unlawful to solicit or sell between 6pm and 8am in Plattsmouth.
