Persistent Burglar Hits Nutrition Store
A burglar hits a nutrition store twice so the owner installs stronger glass. The thief can’t muscle in the second time around.
Jake Schmidt owns Elite Performance Nutrition in Southwest Omaha. Last week a burglar used a ball bat to smash his way into the store after midnight. Inside the thief filled a duffle bag with expensive nutrition products, an estimated $1,200 worth of supplements.
The burglar came back late Sunday but this time the new glass on the front door withstood two swings of the bat.
Leroy Richards of Richards' Glass Service said, “This is what we put in after a break-in. Its laminated safety glass. This time they didn’t get through.”
The store owner is also adding night vision cameras to his security system in case the nutrition burglar strikes a third time.
Jake Schmidt still wonders about a motive.
