Levy override considered.
Weeping Water school district officials have been reaching out to patrons in the district in the last few days to inform them about the district’s state aid situation.
The Cassgram reports the district will experience over a $471,000 drop in 2010-11; State aid will go from $1,269,940 paid in ’09-10 to $698,335 for ’10-11—a 45% reduction.
Several factors figure into the reduced amount for the next year, among them is the district’s valuation increase from $203 million to $248 million, mainly due to the mining interest revaluations, says Superintendent Brian Gegg.
