Nebraska Firefighter Sentenced For DUI

A former Grand Island Fire Department supervisor has been given nine months of probation and fined $400 for drunken driving.

Troy Shubert pleaded guilty last week and was immediately sentenced.

Shubert had been chief of the emergency medical services division, but he was demoted to firefighter/paramedic after he was arrested.

Shubert was not driving a department vehicle when he was arrested by a Nebraska state trooper in January.
