The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has awarded $1.16 million to Plattsmouth for a sewer project.
Federal officials say the project will improve water quality by separating the flow of sanitary sewage from storm water currently
being discharged into the Missouri River during storms.
A new sanitary sewer will be built to carry sanitary sewage to the existing wastewater treatment facility.
Money for the project was granted by Region 7 of the EPA, which includes Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, and nine tribal nations.
