A fire at the Birchwood Apartments at 48th and Dodge shut down traffic in both directions on Dodge Street around 9 o'clock Friday morning. All lanes on Dodge were reopened by 9:30.
Investigators say the fire started in a vacant apartment that was under renovation.
Tenants were evacuated from the building.
The damage was limited to that vacant apartment and some possible water damage to the apartment below.
