The Missouri River bridge at Brownville in southeast Nebraska will be closed this week for repairs.
The Missouri Transportation Department says it plans to close the bridge at 6 p.m. Friday and reopen it by 6 a.m. Monday. The closure will block traffic on U.S. Highway 136 between Brownville and the Missouri towns of Phelps City and Rock Port.
Officials say workers will replace steel plates beneath bridge girders on the Nebraska side of the span.
The work will be rescheduled for the following weekend if bad weather forces a delay.
