Disaster Declaration
Cass is one of 35 Nebraska counties included in disaster declaration request.
Gov. Dave Heineman says the request is a result of heavy rains, rapid snow melt, ice break up on rivers resulting in ice jams, and flooding that occurred beginning March 1st.
A preliminary damage assessment indicated the most severe impacts were to roads, bridges and culverts. Total cost for the damage is expected to exceed $10.8 million.
