New sales tax rate about to take effect.
Plattsmouth Main Street Association and the Plattsmouth Chamber of Commerce sent reminders to members that the additional one-half cent rate approved by voters in November kicks in Thursday (4/1).
Plattsmouth will join 73 other communities in Nebraska, including Louisville, where the total sales tax rate is 7%, 5.5% for state tax and 1.5% for the city tax.
Weeping Water, Eagle and Greenwood all have a 1% city sales tax. Elmwood is one of three Nebraska communities that have a .5% sales tax.
