Iowa Teacher Accused of Sexual Affair With Student

An Iowa high school teacher is accused of carrying on a three month long sexual relationship with an 18-year-old male student.
The Wright County sheriff's office says 33-year-old Jodi Lynn
Barrus turned herself in to authorities on Wednesday and was
released on bond later in the day.
Sheriff Paul Schultz says the alleged victim is an 18-year-old
male student at the school. He says the student and Barrus had a
sexual relationship between December and this month.
A telephone message left Thursday for Belmond-Klemme High School officials wasn't immediately returned.
The school's Web site lists Barrus as a social studies and
health teacher and head softball and volleyball coach, but the Web
site says her profile is no longer available.
A telephone message left Thursday for Barrus' attorney, Dani
Eisentrager, wasn't immediately returned. A call to a telephone
listing for Barrus went unanswered.
