The city council gave its approval to an interlocal cooperation agreement with the Plattsmouth Rural Fire District on financing of fire and rescue services.
The Cassgram reports the rural district’s “pro rata share shall be 25.5% through the duration” of this automatically-renewing three year agreement. The rural district also agrees to reimburse the city at the same 25.5% share for the payments the city has made or will make to American Medical Response (AMR) for rescue service.
Mayor Paul Lambert says he, City Administrator Erv Portis and the rural district’s negotiating team of Lynn Vinduska and Ed Dellinger finalized the agreement at a “fast and furious” pace during the last 10 days.
The Plattsmouth volunteer rescue department is re-instated once the medical director signs off on an equipment list, the last non-compliant item lingering after a state inspection on February 28th. The motion passed by the council also requests detailed reporting on such things as calls made, calls missed, hours involved and duty roster scheduling.
