Police have released the names of the two women who were taken to the hospital with carbon monoxide poisoning on Friday.
The two women, 42-year-old Tracey Newby and 36-year-old Latosher Tyson, were taken to the Nebraska Medical Center in critical condition Friday evening, after being found in their home suffering from carbon monoxide poisoning.
Rescue crews were called to the area of 115th Avenue Circle and Rambleridge Road around 4:30, after family members reportedly came to check on their loved ones inside.
"We saw them bring two people out, but they looked like they were wrapped in a sheet, so we thought that they hadn't made it," said neighbor, Kelly Shanks.
She said the response of rescue crews to the scene was overwhelming. "It was, it was kind of surreal, like 'what's going on in our neighborhood?' I was worried."
Inside the home, investigators found extremely high levels of carbon monoxide, about 300 parts per million. They say anything over 35 is considered dangerous.
Investigators also uncovered the source. "At this point the investigation has revealed that a vehicle was left running in the garage of the residence. The garage was closed at the time," said Officer Michael Pecha with the Omaha Police Department.
Despite a crime lab and multiple detectives on the scene, police say there's nothing to lead them to believe this was intentional.
"We have no evidence of foul play, and nothing to indicate that this was a suicide attempt," said Officer Pecha.
Neighbors just hope the two will recover, and return home to the usually quiet neighborhood. "I don't know the people, I hope the two people that got carried out are OK and that everybody will be alright," said Shank.
