The Plattsmouth volunteer department gets a passing grade. Rescue Captain Greg Clifton brought the news to the city council Monday night.
The Cassgram reports the city signed a temporary contract for professional rescue services last August after volunteer availability became a concern. (archives 8/24/09) That contract was extended in November after the Plattsmouth department showed deficiencies in about two-thirds of the checklist items of a state health and human services inspection, an inspection requested by the volunteer department.
Clifton said Plattsmouth Rescue passed 15 of 17 points Sunday and will probably pass 16 of the 17 points soon. The remaining issue deals with equipment lists but is not something that would keep the rescue department from making calls again.
