Cass County authorities ended their search Tuesday for the body of a Plattsmouth teenager who they believe jumped off a bridge into the Missouri River on Monday.
Lt. Jeff Lickei of the Cass County Sheriff's Department said deputies and Nebraska State Patrol troopers and a patrol helicopter resumed the search Tuesday morning in the area around the U.S. Highway 34 bridge.
Lt. Lickei says workers on a nearby oil line saw the youth stop his car on the bridge around 3:30 p.m. Monday, get out and jump over the railing.
Lt. Lickei says the search is suspended until the body surfaces on
its own. Authorities believe the boy was a 17-year-old student at
Plattsmouth High School.
