The Green Team, a student group at College of Saint Mary that promotes green living and sustainability, is encouraging the campus community to give ‘oxygen’ for Valentine’s Day by giving the one you love living plants instead of cut flowers.
“Plants are a much better option than cut flowers because they are the gift that keeps on giving, as plants provide oxygen…and oxygen is something we all need to live,” said Dr. Ganesh Naik, associate professor of chemistry and faculty adviser for The Green Team.
The group will be selling plants for Valentine’s Day giving on Tuesday, Feb. 9, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the lobby outside Our Lady of Mercy Chapel in Walsh Hall. Prices will range from $5-$10 per plant.
