Most of us are looking for an easy and effective way to lose those unwanted pounds. It's a good bet you've seen plenty of commercials about all the latest in weight-loss technology including the ad for the Reebok Inspire sneakers; the sneakers that claim to help tone your hips, thighs and rear just by walking. Channel 6 decided to follow one woman who's using the shoes to take her weight loss journey.
Julie Blackmon, like so many of us has struggled with her weight for years and is determined to lose it.
"I'd gained a lot of weight in the last couple years, I knew that it was time for me personally to take a step forward and take charge of my own life," Julie told Channel 6.
Julie goes to the gym, gets on the treadmill, works out religiously with a personal trainer and is doing it all while wearing Reebok's Inspire sneakers.
Reebok Easytone Shoes claims to work your hamstrings and calves up to 11 percent harder and tones your butt up to 28 percent more than regular sneakers--just by walking. The company says the motion while wearing the shoes mimicks walking in sand.
But it was inspiration that spurred Julie to change her lifestyle.
"I think it's kind of fun that they're called Inspired because seeing the commercial and the woman on the commercial even though she is 6 foot tall and had a beautiful body, I know I'm not going to look like that but it inspired me to buy the shoes, and to come to the gym here to get the trainers and work out every single morning."
