Hands-on training at Omaha's Henry Doorly Zoo will be given to nearly 150 University of Nebraska-Lincoln educators, teachers and 4-H leaders.
The event on Wednesday will provide a behind-the-scenes look at research conducted at the zoo so participants can help make children comfortable with science and get them involved in the outdoors.
It is also aimed at teaching the participants to empower children to explore.
The event is the launching of a new 4-H curriculum developed by UNL experts.
It is expected to become part of a national 4-H curriculum.
