A Nebraska senator has received hundreds of e-mails criticizing his vote in favor of the national health care reform bill.
Except he wasn't even in Washington when the vote was taken last
month.
State Sen. John Nelson of Omaha says people have been confusing
him with U.S. Sen. Ben Nelson, the Nebraska Democrat, ever since
Ben Nelson cast a key vote last month to advance the reform
package.
For the record, John Nelson disagrees with Ben Nelson's vote but
says he doesn't envy the "intense pressure" the U.S. senator has
received from both sides.
As for the confusion, John Nelson says he's discovered that many
people don't know who their state or U.S. senators are, but at
least they're interested in issues of the day.
