A man described as the 'Snowy Day Bandit' has been arrested in Omaha. Investigators believe he's responsible for five bank robberies dating back to 2007 and two this month alone.

On Wednesday morning, Omaha FBI agents along with Omaha and Council Bluffs police detectives arrested Jason D. McCain at an Omaha home. He had a large amount of cash with him.

McCain, 30, had been arrested on Christmas Eve when Omaha Police gave chase following the bank robbery and he crashed his car into a snowbank at 28th and St. Mary's Avenue. A few days later, McCain came up with $10,000 to bond out of jail.

Investigators believe he chose his targets during a snowstorm as a way to limit the number of people who would be chasing after him.

He accused of targeting two banks this month during snowstorms: Bank of the West, 24th & L, on December 24 and First National Bank, 33rd & L, on December 8.

McCain has also been charged for twice robbing the Tier One Bank at 42nd and Center in March 2007 and December 2008. The other bank robbery involved the Telco Triad Credit Union in Council Bluffs in January 2009.
