It's a gift many seem to forget to give this time of year, but it's certainly needed, especially this winter. The Red Cross put on its seventh annual Holiday Blood Drive Tuesday at Millard North High School.
Organizers were pleased with the turnout. With the recent snowstorms, more blood is needed than usual.
“The problem is the patients at the hospital don't get a holiday from needing blood and they don't get a snow day so the need is constant, so we always need people to come out and give,” said April Oppliger with the American Red Cross.
You don't have to wait for a drive to donate, just call 1-800-GIVELIFE to set up an appointment.
