A Severe Thunderstorm Watch has been issued for areas west of Omaha until 11 p.m.; however, the metro area will likely have thunderstorms on and off throughout the overnight.
“There’s nowhere to put all the snow,” says Cass County Roads Superintendent Lenny Thorne.
The Cassgram reports that the combination of “extreme drifting” with this storm and “the back-to-back timing with the last storm” makes this a difficult situation for the county.
Late Sunday afternoon, Thorne was predicting that 80 percent of the county roads would be open to at least one-way travel this morning. He was hoping for 100% but could not say that with certainty.
