A registered sex offender was arrested at an Omaha public library Friday afternoon. Channel 6 News learned more details from Omaha police Saturday.
Investigators say staff at the library, 28th & Q, saw 38 year-old Scott Baze, viewing pornography. More disturbing, staff told police, was that children were present and had made contact with Baze.
The library is part of Metropolitan Community College. Campus security aided Omaha police in Baze's arrest shortly after Noon. He was booked into Douglas County Corrections on a charge of Posession of Child Pornography.
Nebraska's Sex Offender Registry has Baze listed as a level 3 sex offender, the highest risk category.
