The Nebraska State Patrol says an Iowa driver was injured early Thursday morning when the tractor-trailer he was driving got stuck on train tracks, and was hit by a train.
The driver, 63-year-old Ival McVey of Ottumwa, Iowa had a broken leg and scratches on his face. He was taken to a Central City hospital, then later taken to a Lincoln hospital.
The State Patrol says McVey turned too tightly off U.S. Highway 30 near Clarks, at 1:22 in the morning. He got stuck in a culvert which kept him from the truck off railroad tracks in time to escape being hit by the eastbound train.
