Should the U.S. military policy of "don't ask, don't tell" on homosexual soldiers, sailors and Marines be preserved? Or, should homosexuals be allowed to serve in the military openly?
At a Thursday forum at the University of Nebraska at Kearney, two speakers will discuss the issue.
One will be James Bowman, a resident scholar at the Ethics and Public Policy Center. The center says it is dedicated to applying the Judeo-Christian moral tradition to public-policy issues.
The other forum speaker will be Alex Nicholson, executive director of Servicemembers United, the nation's largest organization of gay and lesbian troops and veterans.
President Barack Obama has vowed to change the 16-year-old policy governing gays in the military.
