Given the intense public interest in -- and high volume of calls about -- the health care debate scheduled to take place in the U.S. Senate on Saturday, Nebraska Republican, Sen. Mike Johanns will keep all of his offices staffed that day.

Sen. Johanns and the other 39 Republicans in the Senate have expressed unified opposition to the 2,000 page health care bill up for a vote. While Democrats tout that it will cost $849 billion over ten years, Republicans note many provisions will not even kick in until the 4th or 5th year so the $849 billion number is misleading.

They say if you measure the cost of the bill over a ten year period of full implementation the price tag to taxpayers will be in the range of $1.5 to $1.8 trillion (T).

Here is a list of offices and the telephone contact number for Senator Johanns.
