Drunk hit and run driver sentenced in Cass County.
This past July, a Cass County sheriff’s deputy observed a vehicle take a corner too wide at a high rate of speed in Buccaneer Bay, drive completely off the road on one side and then over-correct off the road on the other side.
The Cassgram reports the man arrested was 68-year-old Thomas Farry. It was later learned he had been involved in an accident a few minutes earlier. Two test results measured blood alcohol content at .273 and .223, said Cass County Deputy Attorney Rick Fedde.
Farry has been in Cass County Jail since the incident. He pled guilty to driving under the influence, 4th offense this week and sentencing came immediately after the plea.
Fedde said it was actually Farry’s 5th offense, a Class II Felony, but a plea agreement resulted in the Class III Felony conviction.
Farry was still on probation for his last drunken driving incident in Sarpy County in 2006.
