Over the road driver gets Nebraska state prison sentence.
62-year-old Dennis E. Myers was sentenced to one year to 18 months on one count of terroristic threats, a Class IV Felony, and to 30 days on one count of refusal to submit to a chemical test, a Class W Misdemeanor. The sentences are running concurrently. He also has to pay a $500 fine and loses his license for six months.
The Cassgram says Myers, who lists Las Vegas, Nevada as his home address, was arrested by the Nebraska State Patrol at the I-80 weigh scales for an out-of-state warrant and on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance: hydrocodone. The arresting troopers said Myers threatened them during the arrest and then the next day a Cass County jail deputy said Myers threatened her in the hallway outside a Cass County courtroom.
In a plea agreement, one terroristic threat charge was dropped along with a drug charge.
