An Elkhorn woman scared off a burglar, but not before he got away with her purse.
The victim said she heard glass breaking and discovered someone had entered her home near 187th and Honeysuckle Avenue through a sliding glass door.
She managed to chase the burglar off by shouting out that she had a gun. He ran, but not before grabbing her purse from the kitchen counter.
Just 20 minutes later a man entered the Wal-Mart store near 72nd and Pine in Omaha and tried using the victim's credit cards to buy an iPod. The suspect made several attempts and none of the transactions went through.
Anyone with information about the thief is asked to call the Douglas County Sheriff's Department at 444-6000. A reward is being offered for information that leads to an arrest and prosecution of the suspect.
